Spaðinn sweater
This sweater pattern has a cute little story. In the winter of 2020 – 2021 I knitted three striped children’s sweaters for my nephews and niece and posted a beautiful photo of said children in their sweaters on Instagram. Very soon after, I got such a lovely message from my son (22 at the time) stating how awesome these sweaters are and he asked if I could knit one for him. I assured him that I sure could, and this is the pattern that I made while knitting the sweater for him. It is called Spaðinn (Eng. The spade) as it is a slang in Icelandic for young guys who are cool and pretty neat. Spaðinn has stripes on the yoke, body and sleeves, is worked top-down in the round, and with saddle shoulders. I recommend reading the pattern before you start, at least the part about the yoke as the saddle shoulders are a bit different than e.g. raglan increases.
