Stjarna cardigan
This is a cardigan with a story. My late grandmother, who was very dear to my heart and we were very close, was a very talented knitter. She crocheted and embroidered masterpieces as well. She knitted so many beautiful pieces for me when I was a kid, and later all kinds of wonderful things for my children. She was my biggest fan and supporter when I started knitting in the fall of 2009. As far as I know, she did not use any pattern (she usually did not) she just started, and out came a sweater or another piece of clothing. When my oldest one had just started walking (in 1996) my grandmother knitted such a wonderful cardigan for her that we used a lot. The cardigan was beige, a little bit long, with a shirt collar and 4 buttons at the top. Perfect cardigan over dresses. The cardigan still exists. I kept it as a keepsake for my daughter but it never crossed my mind that 26 years later I would find it and write and publish the pattern. Stjarna (eng. Star) cardigan is worked top down, flat, with raglan increase and texture on the body. Sleeves are worked in stockinette stitch with double pointed needles or, if you like, the magic loop method. The button bands are worked along with the cardigan body, and finally, the shirt collar which has the same texture as the body.
I recommend reading the pattern over before you start
